Home Birth

Last week I attended a friends home birth down the road in Rumney. The idea was for me to photograph the birth, but with just 2 hours of labor neither I nor the midwifes made it.  Amy’s husband and 2 friends delivered the baby.  They were all a little shaken by the experience, but happy and healthy none the less. So here is their baby girl at about 40 minutes old.

Ever wonder how they weigh a baby at a home birth?  Here’s how:

Oliver at 2

It’s such a treat to watch a baby grow! I first met Oliver 2 years ago when he was a little infant. Hard to believe in just 2 years he’s turned into a walking, talking, independent person.

Here is a flash back:

And here he is today:

Amazing, isn’t it?

Summer Family Portraits

I am not photographing many portraits these days just because  weddings are keeping me quite busy!  This family though, makes me re-think that decision.  The Zahn clan were celebrating a 70th birthday party and asked for a family portrait.  I couldn’t resist the 3 year old super star!  These are my favorites, but we have some nice (more normal) wall portraits too.

David at 7 Months

David is one of my Baby’s First Year clients.  It is so much fun to get to document all of the first year milestones!  Now, David is advanced.  Already crawling and pulling himself up at 7 months.  So much fun!!

Kyra Update

I was in the studio last week photographing another 7 month old baby, David.  I’ll have his adorable photos up later this week.  But first, I thought I ‘d share a few recent shots of my 7 month old baby girl.

I love this shot in a way only a parent would, because I can hear the noise she is making here, yet it isn’t ear piercing.  She loves to squeal.

Little Liam

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of visiting Karen, Hugh and their newborn Liam at their house in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.

I’ve never photographed another newborn who made so much eye contact before.

Do you think he has modeling in his future?

Andy & Gyodi; Promises To Keep Engagement Photos

Andy & Gyodi are such a fun couple.  You can tell, I’m sure from the pictures!  They were seriously silly.  And despite Promises To Keep in Derry, New Hampshire looking a little scraggly in the end of March, we made some pretty darn cute photos.

Can’t wait for their Spring wedding!!

Want to see more from this session?  They are all on-line here.

Please let me know what you think!

A few Vermont engagement shots

I’m super excited for Caitlin & Mike’s wedding this July!  They’ve picked a fantastic venue - The Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden VT.  Very beautiful spot with lots of Vermont charm!

I met them a couple weeks ago at the Inn to do some planning and take some winter wonderland engagements

This is my homage to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - probably one of the greatest movies ever.

How’d I do?  I tried snow angles too, which was fun but may be not as clever as I was trying to be.

How about the face on the tree?

This is going to be a great wedding!

My Baby

I have a stack of birth announcements I’m yet to send out, so I thought I’d post them here in case they turn into Holiday cards.

And here she is showing off her toothless grin:

And sleeping in her Red Sox hat:

5 Week Old Oliver

Erica and Eric brought their 5 week old son Oliver into the Studio last week for a newborn session.

Eric is a new professor of government at Colby-Sawyer College. He did his graduate thesis on Karl Marx and had the clever idea to bring a few of his books in for props.  I’ve done football, baseball and musical instrument photos but never a book worm one.
