The 2008 NH Wedding Resource Guide

Susan from The New Hampshire Wedding Resource Guide stopped by my office yesterday with a stack of hot-off-the-press Wedding Books. The first thing she said was flip to first page of the color section. When I did I saw this photo of Kate and Erik in Laconia this past September.

Susan said when her designer saw it, she had to have it! There are a bunch of more Authentic Eye photos in there too.

Aside from the awesome photography, this is a great book. It’s got real information, planning tips, time-lines and tons of vendor information. Anyone can stop by my office and pick up a free copy or order one on-line for the cost of shipping through The NH Wedding Resource Guide.

Voting Day

I must admit that I love being a resident in the “first of the nation” state. I’ll also admit I don’t think it makes much sense, but it sure does make rural life exciting! I flew into Manchester airport the day before voting day at 11 pm and the place was hopping. Usually NH cities are ghost towns after 9. Seriously. We’re not known for our late night.

I placed my vote. My candidate did not win. They never do.

Kim & Russ; Park City, Utah

Kim and Russ essentially eloped to Hawaii. They told everyone there were going so it wasn’t a complete elopement…although I don’t think all parental parties were thrilled. In consolation, they had a reception back in Utah.

It was great. Super warm wonderful people. I met and reconnected with so many nice folks! It really made me miss the Park City community.

Kim and Russ had their wedding video looping by the bar. It effectively brought us all to the island for their barefoot wedding. I think it was then that the parents came around about the whole thing.

After the tears, there was drinks, dancing, laughing and more tears..

Now Russ’s truck is his baby. We don’t ask which he loves more, Kim or the truck because we don’t want to know. Some of his friends thought it be fun to mess with him a little and decorate it with hearts and balloons.

Russ was not amused.

Kim was amused….

To the Aug. 2nd Bride….

If the bride who called me regarding an Aug. 2nd wedding in Maine could please call back. You didn’t leave an area code! I tried the three area codes in my immediate area to no avail. Sorry.

Here is a picture of Meghan a student actor who came by my studio last week for a head shot. Isn’t she spectacular!

I am still without a cell phone…so please be patient if it takes me longer than usual to return your calls. Everything will be back to normal next week, i promise.

Pine Cone Ridge

Alright, so it was very hard to stop long enough to take a picture. Absolutely perfect “bluebird” powder day. Pine cone is a hiking access ridge that is closed more then it is open. Today was the first day of the year for lower pine cone. It’s as close to back country skiing as you can get in bounds. We did four laps and by the fourth my legs were shaking uncontrollably. I’m going to pay for it tomorrow.

This is my super good friend Marcy. Marcy was in a avalanche on pine cone ridge back in 2003. What a trooper to keep at it even after that experience.

On a lighter note…I’ve lost my cell phone. If anyone calls, please leave your number even if you think I have it. Thanks!!

Off to a wedding (the real reason I am out here). Check in tomorrow for some pictures.

Powder Day

What perfect timing. I landed in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday afternoon and the snow hasn’t stopped since. Now I used to be quite a skier…but it has been over three years since I really got into some deep powder. I forgot the way it makes my thighs burn. I forgot how good it feels.

The altitude here is 7,000 feet in town and 9,000 at the summit. We didn’t go all the way up, by friends had no sympathy for a flat-lander. We hiked a ways up the ridge of Park City Mountain to find the good stuff.

The pine cone area opens today for the first time of the season and the skies are clear. Check back tomorrow for more.

Back On-line and More to come

Authentic Eye.com recently switched servers. Which is why the site was briefly down yesterday. We’re still working the kinks out of the proofing system but that should be back on-line shortly.

Coming soon is a whole, brand new, beautiful site!! It looks awesome. I can’t wait for you all to see it. In fact…if you can’t wait either why don’t check it out and let me know what you think.

I’m off to Utah tomorrow for a wedding and some powder skiing. Pictures to come, check back soon!
