Check out the website updates

Hey all, we have hot water and a slew of website updates.

Please check it out and let me know what you like, hate, don’t get, typos, etc.  Don’t hold back.  I don’t know if you don’t tell me.

Thanks again!

Home Sweet Home.

We got back to the snowy Northeast on Friday afternoon.  If has not been a warm welcome.

3 feet of snow covering our driveway, frozen well line, busted hot water tank (actually it’s tankless, but still it’s busted), and one vehicle with a dead battery.  It’s literally taken us days to get our head above water or to get any water, cold water.  After days without any water, cold water seems like a luxury.

We are very lucky to have a plumber in the family.  Without the help of Bryan’s dad we would be in way over our heads.  He came up from Mass. on Monday and spent 6 hours patching up our house.  He also ordered us a new tankless water heater to replace the one we busted and is coming back Friday to install.  I can not thank him enough.

On another note, how many of you have noticed my website appear and disapear a few times this month?

It’s my annual website maintenance mess.  I try to get this all done in the off season, but really there is no off season, just a slower season.  I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused any of you.

Here’s the basics of what’s going on, my website officially has a new home on Westhost along with this blog  and soon to be the the new, and so much improved, on-line proofing system.

All photos that were on-line in the previous system will be re-launched in the new system.  I intended on doing this without interuption, but it didn’t work out as I planned.

If anyone has any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me!

When contacting me please use the email address of thea@authenticeye.com.  Some of you have an older address which I’ve been phasing out over the last year and now the account is closed.

And a picture of when times were easier and weather warmer.

Eastward Bound: Des Moines, Iowa

Our road trip is just about coming to an end.  We are just a few days away from home!  I look forward to being home, but not to the weather we are returning to.

Last entry I left off at Sedona AZ. That was many miles and climates ago.

From Sedona we headed back to Prescott AZ to see my high school pal, Catie, again.

Then to Santa Fe, NM for Bryan to meet with the wonderful people at EcoNest.  Amazing houses!

Then Moab Utah! I love Moab. We had the best breakfast of our trip at the Love Muffin Cafe, then we went hiking on the Slickrock Trail.  Once again longing for a mountain bike…but that is not on the agenda for this trip.

We backtracked a bit Northwest to Park City, Utah (my old stomping grounds) for a free Michael Franti and Spearhead show.  He is a fantastic performer!!  This was my 2nd time seeing Franti and unlike my first, I did not end up on stage with him.  Despite that, the show was awesome.  We stayed with my good friend Marcy and her boyfriend Colin.  They live on Park City Mountain Resort, literally.  Colin is the head of snow safety at the resort and lives year round on the mountain.  It’s a sweet place to visit, but not an easy place to live.  They snowmobile in.  Luckily they don’t have much of a reason to leave with skiing out their door and a climbing gym taking up half their living space.  Even Kyra got on the wall.

And that was our kickoff back East….We stopped here in Des Moines to watch the superbowl. What a game!!  I didn’t think Pittsburg was going to pull it off at the end, but they did.
