Emily & Jon - Canterbury Shaker Village

It’s hard to know where to start for this one… The shaker village in Canterbury is a photographer’s dream location and Emily and Jon are a the dream couple.  After a 14 year relationship Emily and Jon were married in a touching family ceremony, they had a wonderful tree theme and just a fantastic relaxed atmosphere.  These two are just a wonderful couple!!  I’m sad to see them move to Seattle (next week), but I think they will be very happy there.  Best of luck, Em and Jon!!

Emily & Kristen’s Engagements

This was my first time the the Webster Barn in Hyde Park Vermont.  What a spectacular location!!  Just a few miles from Stowe VT, with incredible mountain views, cows, rolling green hills and everything a Vermont wedding needs.  I can’t wait for July 17!!

Cookies

Kyra had her first taste of cookie dough the other day.  What an adorable mess she made.

Art Day

I had the honor of being invited to the New Hampton School’s art day as a visiting artist.  It was so inspirational to be around other artists, excited students and a fantastic learning community.  What I wouldn’t give to go back in time and be a high school student again.

My workshops were super fun, but if I could take a workshop it would have been the environmental art.  I am completely inspired to get some grape vines and make some yard art!

Make Your Own Veil!!

From my friend Harper of Seams:

Want to make your own instead of taking the risk of buying one on Etsy that might not be perfect? They are simple to make (techincally) but there are some tricks to getting it just right. Like the fact that we have a Mannequin Head that you can PIN into! Why spend hours and ultimately destroy all that expensive stuff you bought?

Class is limited to 8 and includes access to basic supplies for making a veil and a flower of your choice. An 18″ piece of White or Ivory Birdcage Veiling per student (enough for a good sized blusher veil), combs, barettes, scissors, glue, thread, white silk fabric for flowers and experimenting are provided. Refreshments will be served!

Registered Participants will be given a list of other resources for colored veiling and other millinery supplies. Suggested supplies: Feathers, Vintage Brooches/Beads, Ribbon, Scrap from your Gown, or other things to sew on.

This year we launched an extensive photographer certification program to add meaning to the claim Green(er) photographer.  Authentic Eye has achieved the most prestigious level of Greener certification, Leadership Circle.  If anyone wants know more about what makes us Green(er), please just ask.

Interaction Associates

One of my corporate clients is Interaction Associates.  They have this very cool, egalitarian website that features photos of all their employees.  So every time they have a new hire at the Cambridge office I get to make a visit.  Here are a few from my latest trip.

Kristen & Matt’s Engagement

It’s such a pleasure to photograph a couple’s engagement session.  Everyone is relaxed and it’s a great opportunity to get to know each other better before the wedding day.

And we get to take awesome photos too!

Kristen and Matt were kind enough to drive over from Brewster NY to Concord NH.  We started at White Park in Concord and then headed to Dimond Hill Farm on the Concord/Hopkinton NH line.

Professional Portraits

Photographing business professionals is something I do when not photographing weddings. For the first time this year I had a former bride call me for some portraits.  She is a trainer and needed some photos for her website.  How fun to do something different!!!
